Organs Contribute to the Pain that you Feel
Your body is made up of many interrelated organs as you know, organs being one of those parts. Your organs are always in motion, or they should be! When you breathe, walk, cough, digest food your organs move in your chest and abdomen.
For example, when you breathe your kidneys move one inch. That means they move over 1/2 MILE every day!!! That is about 19,000 miles in a lifetime!!!
When you are healthy all of the organs move with fluidity and this influences the tiny cells pulses all the way to the contractions of the heart. But organs lose their mobility due to trauma, surgery, lifestyle behaviors, infection, pollution, diet, posture, pregnancy, etc. Losing mobility creates abnormal points of tension that can lead to you feeling pain. We think it is a ‘pinched nerve’ or a ‘muscle spasm’ or ‘inflammation’ but it really may be an organ that is causing it all.
As many you know I have been studying the organs (also known as viscera) this year. Over the years, I have found myself palpating all kinds of restriction, some that I can place and others that I have simply observed. With this focused study of VISCERAL MANIPULATION I am learning to identify these other restrictions that I have only been able to observe.
Knowing how to interact with the organs – the kidneys, the colon, the sphincters, etc – allows me to offer you yet another dimension in your treatment. By using the gentle visceral manipulation techniques, I can help encourage or reestablish the natural spring of organs. This increases their mobility as well as their motility (how happy they are doing their job).
In upcoming newsletters, I will share neat things I have been learning about each organ.
If you would like a full session of visceral manipulation, that is an option. If you want me to incorporate it into your treatment, I can do that too. Please ask question. Let’s learn together!
