Update – Assisted Lymph Therapy

Last month, I shared that I have been finalizing some research on a new therapy called Assisted Lymph Therapy (ALT). After phone calls with manufacturers of the ALT machine and understanding how best to use this in the Rosewood Office I have come to a decision.

Below is some of last month’s email augmented with new information. I apologize for repeats but it was most clear following the same format to give you the info.

What ALT?
As a non-invasive technique, ALT emits frequencies generated electrically through noble gases encased in glass bulbs. These frequencies interact with proteins in the body dislodging them from tissue and dissolving them. This stimulates flow in a way that cannot be done manually. When trapped proteins (not nutrient proteins, like in meat) release their bond, stagnant lymph is liberated and follows normal filtration and reabsorption channels.

Is ALT ‘better’ than MLD?
No. It is different. It is another way to address the lymph system. In some cases it can work faster because of its ability to liquify and push out fibrosis, toxins, stagnation, etc.

Do I have to have a problem to get ALT?
No. I am getting the treatment now and have no diagnosed issue. I find ALT is able to clean up my system in a deep way by breaking apart proteins collecting in various places, specifically joints and around organs for me.

It is surprising to see levels of tissue stagnation. I have had to lengthen a session to adequately address an area. Dosage is key. You have to get enough of the treatment for it to do what it is meant to do.

Who is the treatment for?

• General Inflammation
• Lymphedema, Edema, and Water Retention
• Cancer (can be done with active cancer with doctor sign-off where MLD cannot)
• Post Surgery – done with precaution and doctor sign-off
• Cosmetic enhancement by fluid deposit reductions
• Clearing system of ineffective injections (such as botox to eliminate muscle spasms)
• Lyme
• Pre and Post Athletic Application – decrease muscle/tendon strain and healing time
• General detox and cleansing
• General overall health

Who is the treatment not good for?

• someone with DVT (a clear scan is required before any treatment at all can be done)
• pregnancy
• cosmetic surgery (botox for wrinkle removal)
• other acute conditions which are precautions and requiring doctor sign-off

Can ALT be incorporated into a regular treatment?
Not really. Just like traditional Manual Lymphatic Drainage has specific protocols to follow to clear passageways out, so does ALT. The lymphatic system needs to be flowing in order to clear so establishing that flow before working on stuck areas has to come first. After 3-4 full sessions incorporating ALT into a lymphatic drainage treatment may be possible.

How long is the treatment? Cost?
Treatments are one hour.
Adding 30min of ALT to a 60min session is an option after preliminary sessions..
Treatment cost is $100 cash/$105 card for 60min.

I am now in the phase of acquiring the ALT machine. Next will be obtaining the training.

In his podcast Dr Chris Motley spoke briefly about ALT.
