I have always kept them at bay with a morning dose of cranberry. But with the recent medical emergency that Herb and I had with his mom in OH, the stress caused me to sense that a UTI was coming on.

Since I had my essential oils with me to use with Herb’s mom, I pulled out my Cedarwood and massaged it into the lower back area between my ribs and my pelvis right over the kidney area. I also massaged it into my stomach for good measure. The next morning I woke up

RESEARCH: Cinnamon is Key in Anti-Mold Wrappers
The Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry August 13, 2008, 56 (15), 6364-6369Researchers harnessed cinnamon’s anti-microbial property developing an anti-mold wrapper. Mold-tainted bread wrapped in wax paper made with 6% cinnamon esential oil experienced 96% less mold growth and prolonged freshness up to 10 days. Another study in International Journal of Food Microbiology found that a few drops of cinnamon essential oils in carrot broth inhibited bacteria growth for 60 days. The researchers called it a viable ‘alternative to traditional food preservatives’. Cinnamon is also anti-fungual and anti-viral. Use it to disinfect against infectious diseases in airports and hospitals, act as an alternative to the flu vaccine, fight off Candida, and flavor meals. Cinnamon’s most impressive health benefit is its impact on blood sugar. 1/2 teaspoon a day was shown to significantly reduce blood sugar levels, triglycerides, LDL and total cholesterol levels in people with type 2 diabetes. Another study found that it increased glucose metabolism by about 20 times, significantly improving the body’s ability to regulate blood sugar. Researchers have even found that cinnamon contains a bioactive component with “insulin-like” effects.Super Cinnamon Facts

Holy Anointing

Exodus 30:22-33 – Anointing Oil
Then the LORD said to Moses, “Take the following fine spices: 500
shekels of
liquid myrrh, half as much (that is, 250 shekels) of fragrant
cinnamon, 250 shekels of fragrant cane, 24 500 shekels of cassia
all according to the sanctuary shekeland a hin of olive oil. Make
these into a sacred anointing oil, a fragrant blend, the work of a perfumer.
It will be the sacred anointing oil. Then use it to anoint the Tent of
Meeting, the ark of the Testimony, the table and all its articles, the
lampstand and its accessories, the altar of incense, the altar of burnt
offering and all its utensils, and the basin with its stand. You shall consecrate them so they will be most holy, and whatever touches them will be holy. “Anoint Aaron and his sons and consecrate them so they may serve me as priests. Say to the Israelites, ‘This is to be my sacred anointing oil for the generations to come. Do not pour it on men’s bodies and do not make any oil with the same formula. It is sacred, and you are to consider it sacred. Whoever makes perfume like it and whoever puts it on anyone other than a priest must be cut off from his people.’ “

God gave Moses a recipe for holy anointing oil used in the ritual of the Tabernacle and the anointing of the priests. It included a combination of myrrh (costly and rare even at that time and a common ingredient in healing remedies, beauty treatments, and embalming), sweet cinnamon, cassia (representing purity or transparency), and sweet calamus (an oil obtained by crusing and bruising of river reeds) blened by the priets themselves.

This blend was never to be used by an ordinary person. It was never to be worn or sold publically. This ritualistic blend had a very distinct smell and it singled out the anointed, leaving no doubt to those around that they were set apart for God’s work.

In the same way, Jesus was set apart for God’s work, crushed by our sin, bruised for our trangressions, and blended with the oil of the Spirit allowing us to partake in God’s will.
