MODALITY MINUTE: What’s SomatoEmotional Release? (Part 3 of 3)
The body compensates for the effects of trauma, whether from an accident, injury, or emotional incident. Carrying this in our bodies can inhibit the body returning to its previous healthy state. These traumas can also trigger that very long-forgotten incident later on.
Somatoemotional Release (SER) is a gentle therapy that helps alleviate the physical effects of the trauma by working with the muscles and other soft tissue on the body, on the roof of the mouth, and under the tongue. It targets these blockages, or “energy cysts”, to help a patient return to a healthy state, free from restrictions and muscular tension. RESEARCH: Flouridated Water
DYK?? Over many years of observation it is found that people can be hypothyroid or normal thyroid function based on if they live where water is being fluoridated.
In their book Thyroid Power, Richard and Karilee Shames discuss dangers of fluoridated water. Original research suggesting fluoride’s benefit to teeth was done with pharmaceutical grade sodium fluoride. This is not what is being added to drinking water today. 90% of fluoridated communities use waste products mostly from phosphate fertilizer and aluminum industries. No water safety research has been done on these chemicals to date.
GENTLE REMINDERS: Warding Off the Flu
An overlooked approach to flu protection is keeping the immune system in optimal shape. With proper nutrition (including higher levels of vitamin D), adequate sleep, de-stress, and regular exercise the immune system is can fight a flu virus when encountered. Massage increases circulation and flushes toxins. As our bodies protect us from the latest bug, make its job easier by getting a detoxifying relaxation or therapeutic massage. Strengthen your health to better handle crisis.
THE MAILBAG: Client Enjoys the Hot Stones
I am extremely impressed with Monica’s skill, intuition, and manner. She ranks among the best therapists whom I have encountered thus far. I highly recommend the hot stones and aromatherapy. I was transcendent after my last 90min session; the therapeutic benefits dissolved the tension of a stressful month. Kelli Sebastian (Longwood, FL)
